Kidepo National park, “home of the big five”. Kidepo Valley National Park ranks among Africa’s finest wilderness and the park hosts over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species. This safari will offer you an opportunity to see the big five as well as a visit to the Karamojong communities those similar to the Maasai in Kenya.

5 Day Kidepo Fly In Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Arrival – Entebbe

Our guide will meet and welcome you at Entebbe International airport. After your guide has loaded up your luggage you will be driven to your hotel in Entebbe. Dinner and Overnight at Laico, Lake Victoria Hotel.BB

Day 2: Entebbe – Kidepo Valley National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Entebbe International airport to catch your scheduled flight to Kidepo. The flight takes between two and half-hours to Kidepo Valley National Park. You will be picked up from the airstrip and drive to Apoka lodge.  Check in your lodge, have lunch and later take an evening game drive through Kidepo Valley National park. Dinner and Overnight at Apoka Lodge. B.L.D

Day 3: Morning game & Evening game

This morning you’ll meet up with your guide and head off to the Kidepo Valley National Park. The drive will be about 2 to 3 hours. Accompanied by an experience tracker-guide, on an exciting game viewing adventure, you will search for lions, cheetahs and leopards.  Return to the lodge relax at Apoka Lodge. After lunch proceed for an afternoon game drive. About 77 different kinds of mammals are found here, 28 of which are found nowhere else in Uganda.  Tree Climbing lions are found here during the day as they tend to roam at night, Herds of Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffes, 5 kinds of primates, bat-eared fox, striped hyena, aardwolf, caracal, cheetah and hunting dog, eland, bush buck, bush duskier, defassa water buck, bohor reed buck, Jackson’s hartebeest and oribi. Dinner and Overnight at Apoka Lodge. B.L.D

Day 4: Game – Karamojong Community Tour

Proceed for your half day game drive. On clear days, Kidepo Valley National park offers fantastic orange tinted sunsets and you will definitely want to capture this moment while sipping on a sun downer back at your lodge. The Kidepo valley National Park is 1,442 km2 of incredible wide-open landscapes and two rivers, Kidepo and Narus rivers. On your morning game drive, you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as giraffe, spotted hyena, Elephants, buffaloes, zebras, lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Leopards are harder to spot but are still reasonably common. In the evening meet the Ugandan Maasai the Karamojong in their community. The Karamojong have a society whose outward appearance resembles that of the Maasai pastoralists who move their cattle around a tough landscape in search of grazing. A true Kajong dance is something not to be missed. Dinner and Overnight at Apoka Lodge. B.L.D

Day 5: Depart for Entebbe

Early morning breakfast, games drive as you drive through Kidepo Valley Park to the airstrip and take your flight back to Entebbe. Flight departs 14:20 hours. Driver picks you up from Entebbe or connect with your next flight back home.

Getting There

To get to Kidepo Valley National Park:

  1. By Flight: Fly from Entebbe International Airport to Kidepo. The flight takes approximately 2.5 hours. Once you land at the airstrip in Kidepo, you’ll be picked up by your guide and transferred to your lodge.

  2. By Road and Air: Drive from Entebbe to Entebbe International Airport, then catch a scheduled flight to Kidepo. Upon arrival at the airstrip in Kidepo, you’ll be transferred to your lodge.

The tour activities include wildlife viewing during game drives, cultural interaction with the Karamojong community, and scenic flights between Entebbe and Kidepo.
